The Grief Recovery Method
Teaching you tools for dealing with loss
A loss, whatever the nature of the loss and howsoever caused, is exceptionally traumatic and deserves time for reflection and grieving. This may be caused by a divorce, a death, the end of a relationship, the end of a career, the death of a pet or other losses and tragedies.
The phrase ‘grief stricken’ is well known. But what does it mean? The idea is that one has been struck or hit by something, causing a wound. In this case, an emotional wound. People are affected by this differently, depending on what the wound is. In the most extreme cases, some people almost lose their ability to talk. A lot of people lose their ability to function normally in their lives or concentrate on important things. Others push it to the side and ‘keep busy’ so that they don’t have to think about the emotional wound.
Although everyone experiences loss at some point in their lives, we’re not taught how to deal with it in regular education or indeed through our parents. I believe that everyone has the right to be listened to, without judgment.
How would it feel to be able to let go of the pain of loss? As a Grief Recovery Specialist, I’m ready and able to support you and teach you lifelong tools to help you recover from your loss, accept the present and remember fonder memories.
I teach the Grief Recovery Method both as a 1 on 1 and a Group Programme. I also help parents and teachers support children with loss with the Helping Children with Loss Programme.
The Grief Recovery Method is an evidenced based programme. Research conducted by the Kent State University has shown that The Grief Recovery Method approach to helping grievers deal with the pain of emotional loss in any relationship is 'Evidence Based' and effective. It's the only grief support programme to have received this distinction of being evidence based.

The 1 on 1 programme can be delivered face to face or online. The programme is a seven week format and utilises the same proven materials as the group programme in a more private setting.

A group support programme is an eight week programme and offers a safe, evidence based environment for grievers to take effective and lasting action no matter the type of loss experienced.

The vast majority of parents find themselves at a loss when trying to help their children deal with any grieving experience that impacts them. The Helping Children with Loss programme is a 4-week group programme designed to teach parents, and others who work with children, the necessary tools to help children effectively deal with their broken hearts, no matter the loss they are facing. It is delivered face to face or online.
